Bill has been carving Oamaru limestone since 2009 and has been displaying his sculptures at Big Mac Slab Creative Centre in Paraparaumu. He is also a regular exhibitor at the Otaki Pot Festival.
All his sculptures are designed to be suitable for exterior use and are built to withstand the strong Wellington winds. His sculptures can be found throughout New Zealand and overseas in Canada, USA, UK, Eire.
He welcomes undertaking commissioned sculptures, where the client can pick the best piece of driftwood for their garden, then decide on the number and size of the birds. The piece created is totally unique to the client.
One commissioned piece had the mother and father birds and 5 smaller birds of differing sizes based on the current heights of their children. It was a very personal birthday present from the parents of the mother.
